This may surprise you, but in one day Australians throw away approximately 2.7 million disposable coffee cups. That equates to a billion a year. - Keeping Your Coffee Warm: Unlike cardboard cups, reusable cups made out of plastic, glass or metal will keep your coffee warmer for longer. A lot of them are now double walled to add additional insulation and the lids can be sealed to keep the heat in. Rather than getting from the coffee shop to the office and finding your coffee has gone cold, by using a reusable coffee cup your coffee will still be hot when you get to the office.
- Easier To Hold: How many times have you grabbed that cup of coffee or tea only to find the heat coming through the cup is burning your hands. A big advantage of reusable cups is they have a cooling sleeve to hold. The most popular is a silicone sleeve, though some people who want something more eco friendly are opting for cork bands. Either way, holding your coffee while getting to work or if you are using them at work to get your cup of coffee, either way you know you aren’t going to burn yourself.
- Avoiding Harmful Toxins: We’re not saying disposable cups are toxic, but with a plastic liner, prolonged use could possibly cause some health issues.
